World Bank Warns that the Fed is about to cause “Panic and Turmoil”

The US Federal Reserve is likely to lift interest rates for the first time next week in almost 10 years.

However, both the IMF and the World Bank have been consistently warning the US Federal reserve against such a decision.

“the World Bank and IMF are urging the Fed not to raise rates until 2016 because the U.S. economy isn’t strong enough yet”

CNN money

Today, the World Bank stepped up its rhetoric:

The Federal Reserve will cause “panic and turmoil” if it raises interest rates in the next few weeks, the World Bank’s chief economist has warned.

~ The Telegraph

It was during this time that the Central Bank of Central Banks (The BIS) had also warned that the world is defenseless against the next Financial Crisis:

Further to this, the leading financial markets news site in the US (Wall Street Journal) reported the following as the Greece crisis began to unfold a few months back:

“Talk to almost any banker, investor or hedge-fund manager today and one topic is likely to dominate the conversation: It isn’t Greece.

The fear is that a Fed rate increase could unleash such disruptions on a grand scale.”

~ Wall Street Journal

The picture couldn’t be clearer; this is an event that has had many people worried for many months.

Will there be turmoil and panic next week? We dont know.

Many US evangelical pastors have been warning of a Shemitah collapse. Whether a financial crisis does or doesn’t happen, we have little reason to believe that there is any scriptural precedent for applying the Shemitah cycle to the US instead of Israel as it was originally intended.

One thing is for sure, this month wont be lacking in financial crisis flash points. Here are at least two coming up in the next few weeks:

  • The Greek Prime Minister is up for re-election on the 20th of September. Polls suggest that he wont be voted in as originally expected which will put the latest round of bailouts under significant risk. This could also be a flash-point for significant change in the geopolitics of the Eurozone.
  • Remember the Government Shutdown of 2013? Well the US House of Representatives passed a bill a few years back to end the crisis temporarily until the 30th of September 2015. Once again, republicans are gearing up to see if they use a shutdown as political blackmail.

NATO looks to leave Afghanistan & The King of the North plans to fill the void

Only last week we heard that Russia was increasing its military presence in Syria.

Now we hear that Russia is planning to support Afghanistan’s military when NATO pulls out.

When we revisit the map of the ancient Seleucid empire we find that Afghanistan is included within the ancient boundary which formed the empire of the King of the North.

Here is a list of very recent news related to Daniel 11:

  1. Egypt discovers what is likely to be the biggest gas field in the world.
  2. Putin confirms Russian military increase in Syria

Even So, Come Lord Jesus.

This week – Putin, Syria, Europe & the Pope

Putin officially confirms that he has forces in Syria.

Another milestone in current events – Putin himself has officially confirmed reports that he has boots on the ground in Syria.

Russia has sent the biggest nuclear submarine in the world down to Syria

The world’s largest submarine, the Dmitri Donskoy (TK-208), Nato-coded Typhoon, has set sail for the Mediterranean and is destined for the Syrian coast, DEBKAfile reports exclusively from its military and intelligence sources. Aboard the sub are 20 Bulava (NATO-code SS-N-30) intercontinental ballistic missiles with an estimated up to 200 nuclear warheads. Each missile, with a reported range of 10,000km, carries 6-10 MIRV nuclear warheads.

The Russian sub set sail from its North Sea base on Sept. 4, escorted by two anti-sub warfare ships. Their arrival at destination in 10 days time will top up the new Russian military deployment in Syria.

Europe is experiencing more instability with a migrant & a farmers crisis

Thousands of migrants have crossed into Austria and Germany, following a long journey that has brought many from conflict zones like Syria into the heart of Europe.

Police have used water cannon during a farmers’ protest in Brussels. Hundreds of protesters were throwing stones, eggs and firecrackers at officers and used two tractors to try and break through a cordon.

Not what you expect to to see in Brussels which is the de facto capital of the European Union (EU) and headquarters for NATO.

Russia had a hand in this when it decided to cut off agricultural imports from Europe.

The EU can only suffer from so much instability. Greece is dragging them down. What will Russia do next?

The False Prophet speaks again

Pope Francis has called on every European parish to host one refugee family each in a goodwill gesture that will begin in the Vatican state. It comes as Europe faces the worst refugee crisis since World War II.

Putin begins to take the Seleucid Empire.

For the first time ever, Putin has officially confirmed reports that he has operational boots on the ground in Syria. Wow.

This momentous admission means nothing on its own, but everything for those who understand Daniel 11.

Syria is not what matters here. What matters is that Putin has an occupational ground force inside the ancient Seleucid Empire, and he just admitted it.

This news comes only a few days after we heard that Egypt has discovered what is likely to be the biggest gas field in the world!

This week is a milestone indeed and shows us without a doubt that Daniel 11 is fast becoming a reality.

Why is this so significant?

In Daniel 11, the angel (probably Gabriel) tells Daniel a prophecy that will occur around “the time of the end”.

Interwoven throughout the prophecy is the “King of the North” who was and is the occupational power of the area of the ancient Seleucid Empire which today includes Syria.

The King of the South is the occupational power of the Ptolemic Empire which includes the territory of Egypt.

Seleucid Empire

Up till now, Russia had only asserted herself as the regional power via proxy.  It would supply the Arab states with weapons and act as a diplomatic power broker on behalf of regional states. It also had some military bases in the region but was never actively participating in warfare.

However it wasn’t until yesterday that Putin confirmed that his troops are in Syria and are actively engaged in war against Syrias enemies, making it the first time that Russia has had an operational ground presence within the Seleucid empire bringing him a step closer to becoming the King of the North.

This is a milestone indeed.

Furthermore, we heard this week that Egypt have discovered the biggest gas field in the world.

Why is this important? because Daniel 11 says of the King of the North in the latter day:

He (The King of the North aka Russia) shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt:

Even so, Come Lord Jesus.

How Biblical is the Blood Moon & US Shemitah?

As you may have heard, along with a number of current events coming up in September, evangelical pastors in the US are warning that there will also be a “Blood moon” and a “Shemitah”.

Social media and news sites have jumped onto the evangelical bandwagon and responded with a great deal of alarmist material warning emphatically that a cataclysmic financial crisis will hit in September.

Conspiracy videos such as this are being shared on social media:

Jeff Berwick, founder of the Dollar Vigilante produced this video:

Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, the writer of “The Mystery of the Shemitah” is interviewed here on the Jim Bakker show:

This post does not assume or suggest that there will or wont be a global crisis of some sort this September, but rather that there is very little scriptural basis for these evangelical theories and in some cases they actually contradict our understanding of scripture.

For example. It has been traditionally accepted by Christadelphians that:

  1. Revelation is symbolic not literal. However, the blood moon theory is based on a literal understanding of Revelation.
  2. The moon that turned blood red in Revelation 6:12 is referring to political upheaval as shown by Bro. Thomas, not a literal blood red moon.

We must not look to the natural, but to the political universe for the interpretation of its ‘signs’

~ Eureka,  John Thomas.

Below are three articles worth reading

The Testimony magazine recently published an article on the topic of the blood moons showing that the blood moon theory conveniently cherry picks data:

When you review the data it becomes apparent that there isn’t a pattern to base predictions on.

~ Testimony Magazine Article

Mike Moore is the General Secretary of Christian Witness to Israel and he points out that none of the upcoming “blood moons” will even appear over Israel ;

The only eclipse of the tetrad visible in Israel will be the last in the series. It will take place at the Feast of Tabernacles on 28 September 2015 but when it is visible it will have almost set on the horizon and will be over in a matter of minutes. If you’re in Israel and you blink, you’ll miss it!

~ Mikes Musings

BiblicalIntegrity.org published a pertinent review of the best seller “Is the Shemitah Real?” by Jonathan Cahn:

That God expects or will impose a Shemitah upon any nation other than Israel has no scriptural basis. Neither do the Scriptures provide any indication that the Shemitah is some sort of universal principle that operates throughout or even at various times in history.

~ BiblicalIntegrity.org

Summary

The most fundamental principle of the Christadelphian movement is to have a strong biblical basis for a scriptural belief before accepting it. The Blood moon and Shemitah (US) theories are based on data and observations largely constructed outside of scripture.

“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them”

~ Isa 8:20

“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.”

~ 2 Peter 1:20

Furthermore, if we believe or propagate the blood moon theory we imply that Revelation should be read literally. It is for this reason and others that these theories should not be entertained as part of our preaching efforts.

“But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.”

~ Gal 1:8
